Built for Debbie Gary, this Pitts Model 12 was created to match her SF-260 Marchetti.  Many custom features were added to create a very special airplane for Debbie.  Looking past the special paint scheme, you can see things like landing lights on all 4 wings, strobes, a light at the tail to illuminate the airshow smoke, an entry step, auto pilot, removable front control stick, internal camera mounts and more.  The more you look, the more you see.

Tom Kampel visited JKE in 2001 with a desire to have a custom built Pitts Model 12.  Life intervened for Tom as it can do from time to time resulting in the his model 12 getting underway late in 2004.  The airplane specifications changed a bit during those 3 years resulting in the 2 tone blue color combination you see here.  Tom opted for carbon Fiber seats, Oregon Aero Seat cushions, Becker avionics and a cabin heater to make up for not living in Florida.  Aircraft Studio Design worked with Tom to perfect the color scheme and the special logos on the airplane.

The first factory built Pitts Model 12 belongs to John Ross.  He is the kind of guy who knows what he wants and isn't afraid to let others know what is on his mind.  Being a bit of a motorhead, he wanted the latest and best available.  He knew the colors to be on the airplane before he made that first call to us.  Black and Purple.  He owns another airplane and a custom motorcycle in those colors.  JKE double covering was employed on the airframe along with a clear coat finish, Becker avionics, GRT EIS system, and smoke.
